Bold Street Festival

Next Saturday (26th September) is the second Bold Street Festival. After the huge success of last year's event over 50 stores on this iconic, and largely independent, Liverpool thoroughfare are joining forces to create a day action packed with street entertainers, promotions, dancing, music and lots of food sampling.

Bold Street is our spiritual home and where it all began for Utlity and with a massive list of events taking place up and down the street there's lots to keep all the family entertained including animated stilt walkers, free tango dancing classes, tai chi lessons, free windmills, circus dancing, balloons, cooking demos, interactive games and graffiti artists.

'Shiverpool' will be present to recount ghostly stories from the area as well as a 'Push Poem Machine' and street artist Nina Edge. One of the key events will be the transformation of an empty shop unit into a small cinema where the public can enjoy a luxury full cinema experience with screening of cartoons, news reels, classic trailers and comedies.

Old or young the day is sure to be one of fun where the independent retail sector celebrates its originality, creativity and unique quality. Come and join is from 10am...

String Shelving

We've introduced String Shelving to our on line catalogue. This versatile storage system comes in a basic composition (Strings Pocket) or as modular elements (String) for you to create a composition to suit whatever your requirements. Designed in 1949 String is a great and inexpensive storage solution to suit any room and still look fresh - 60 years after it was designed!.

Paul The Stag

No this is not a new design of coat rack! Last Saturday saw our very own Paul (Mozzer) celebrate his last few days of bachelor freedom with his fellow Utility male work colleagues (and all his mates from outside work too) at Go Ape in Delamere Forest whilst all the girls looked after the stores. Needless to say the day couldn't go by without dressing him up in suitable stag like attire. As we were in the forest for most of the day Rich (best man) felt a reindeer was the best option - and he proved to be very popular amongst passers by including adults, children and the odd wayward horse!
