New Kartell Fresh from Salone 2012

Newly unleashed from Kartell, the Comback Chair draws its inspiration from an English classic, the Windsor Chair, with designer Patricia Urquiola injecting a contemporary edge to create a new timeless classic. Characterised by a backrest of seven teeth - each are spread out to produce a unique pattern which upon their meeting construct a reinforced hexagonal rim. As a consequence slim shafts grace the back paneling of the seat - utilising both negative and positive space for a dynamic appeal. This single mould chair is available in three base options; four legs, sled and swivel base and in an array of colourways from classic black to neutral hazel to a vibrant orangey red making Comback ideal for a range of applications.

Expanding upon the Bloom lighting range, Ferruccio Laviani has introduced Big Bloom which includes all the beauty and mystic of the original Bloom Pendant Light and Elliptical Bloom Light. With a larger diameter of 80cm and available in four colours, it provides more scope for each of the single polycarbonate flowers to dazzle and sparkle upon its light.

Lightyears Calabash Pendant Lights

Launched in Stockholm this year Calabash is a series of pendant lights from Danish lighting company Lightyears. Using the Calabash pumpkin or squash as their design influence the duo collectively known as Komplot Design have given the range a chromed finish to reflect their surroundings. Available in three sizes and four colours (red, silver, gold and black) each Calabash light comes with a 3m black textile cord. They're available from September 2011.

Concrete Design

The Emperor's new light

And so the story begins… Long ago an Asian Emperor was given a beautiful nightingale as a gift. The bird was so beautiful and sang so beguilingly the Emperor decided to keep it forever by his side. The nightingale was placed in a beautiful majestic cage in the imperial chambers and became the delight of the Emperors days.

This ancient legend provides the design influence behind this hand woven range of Emperor Lights, designed by Neri & Hu.

The woven bamboo rattan provides the cage to an internal frosted glass diffuser, becoming your delight in any room. The lovingly hand crafted aspect to these lights, available in suspension, floor or table styles mean that these are special order items.
